About BMX Wiki

BMX Wiki is a free reference for everything BMX. It explains tricks, terms, bike parts, riders, videos, brands, disciplines, events and history in plain English, for riders who want to progress and for anyone trying to understand the sport.

How articles are written

Every article starts with a one paragraph definition, then goes into detail. We use tables for comparisons, numbered steps for techniques, and an infobox of checkable facts where it helps. Where the history of a trick or the exact date of an event is disputed, we say so rather than guess.

Articles are reviewed by people who ride. If something is wrong, out of date or missing, we want to know.

Ownership: BMX Wiki and LUXBMX

BMX Wiki has the same owner as LUXBMX, an Australian BMX store in Brisbane. We say this plainly so you can judge what you read here.

  • Some articles end with a short "Shop at LUXBMX" list of popular products, and some show product photos supplied by LUXBMX. Every one of those photos is credited "Photo: LUXBMX" and links to the store.
  • Some articles link to videos on the LUXBMX YouTube channel, such as part buying guides and trick how-tos filmed with Australian riders.
  • Product and video links are kept separate from the article text. They are not paid placements, and they do not change what an article says about a part, brand or rider. Where LUXBMX itself is part of a story, for example the King of BNE street jam it runs, the article says so.
